Introduction
RCMC stands for Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC). RCMC is issued by the Export promotional Councils of India. RCMC is issued for 5 years with an annual subscription, however, depends on upon council to council.
Further, RCMC is to be applied as per the line of business. E.g. if you are dealing with coconut product, then you need to register with Coconut Development Board.

Who needs RCMC in India?
As per the foreign trade policy, there are two categories of person to whom RCMC is applicable.
- Every person applying for any license to import or export the restricted goods or any other license under import export shall apply for RCMC registration.
- Every person who wants to claim any benefit against any export scheme, then he shall also be liable first to register under RCMC.
Is there any other license also applied before applying for RCMC?
Yes, before applying for RCMC, a person should apply for Import Export code (IEC) first. The import export code can be applied online using one digital signature.
