How to pay (e-payment) Service tax online

The process of service tax e-payment is not a simple job. Hence, we have prepared this step by step guide to explain the e-payment procedure.
The procedure for e-payment is as follows:
#Step 1: Visit aces.gov.in and click on e-payment link:
#Step 2: After clicking on e-payment link, check your bank within the list of available banks on the website, and click on the link
#Step 3: After clicking the link, a link will open up; and do the following steps:
- Write assessee code (your service tax registration number),
- Details will open up automatically.
- Select the accounting code, Accounting code are mentioned in your Service tax registration (ST-2), or else, move to next step.
#Step 4: After entering assessee code, then click to select the accounting code for service tax
#Step 5: After clicking on the link,
- Search the service you provide from the list of services and select the code mentioned against the services.
E.g., if we provide IT services, then we will select Information technology services, code 0452.
- Further, after selecting the accounting code for services, then select code for KRISHI KALYAN CESS (1509) and SWACHH BHARAT CESS (1493) in the last section of accounting codes.
- Then click on submit
#Step 6: After selecting the accounting code, then select the bank, through which you will make the payment, and submit the details to the bank.
#Step 7: After submitting to the bank, log in into your bank and fill the respective details and pay the taxes.
Conclusion:
After making the payment, the challan will be generated. And you are done.
