GST Implementation date extended to 1st September, 2017 decision taken in today’s GST council meeting - A Reality Check

Introduction

A message on the whatsapp that “GST implementation date has been extended to 1.09.2017 – decision has been taken in today’s GST council meeting” is being forwarded a lot.

However, there is no official confirmation from the government and this message from the outlook look fake. If it is to be the real news, then the whole news channel would have been running headlines.

However, through the message maybe fake, but the truth is that business is still not ready and infrastructure relating to E way bill is also not ready yet.

Government stands firm

Even through industry seek delay in GST implementation, government stands firm in implementation of GST by 1st July 2017.

Conclusion
